Adopt A New Best Friend!
Golden Re-triever Rescue will consider adoptive families in New Jersey and surrounding areas only. This is simply due to logistics and distance of travel for our volunteers.
Every Golden has a different personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more.
We take all these factors into consideration when making a fur-ever home match.
We are very careful about the placements we make.
We do our best to match the right Golden with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet's permanent home.

Adoption Process

Apply
We appreciate you wanting to bring a dog into your home. In order for us to find the right Golden for you, we need you to submit an adoption application. -
Review
Once your completed application and application fee has been received by Golden Re-triever Rescue, a volunteer will call you to review your application in detail. -
Home Visit
Once your application review is complete, a Golden Re-triever Rescue volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit to meet in person. During the home visit, we look for potential hazards for the dog that the adopter may not have considered. All household members must be present during the home visit. This includes all pets. -
Find and Meet Your Golden
Pending a favorable visit, your application will then be forwarded to our Adoption Coordinator. If your application is selected for a particular dog, you will be given the opportunity to meet the dog.
Additional Information
- We will not discuss adoption details regarding any particular Golden if you have not yet applied to adopt.
- Golden Re-triever Rescue is a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization. Please be patient with us! We will make every effort to schedule your home visit in a timely manner. The Goldens need our time too.
- Most Goldens are spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
